This Privacy Policy explains how BibleWise ("BibleWise," "we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, discloses, and safeguards information when you use our mobile application (the "App"). By using the App, you agree to the practices described in this policy.
02Information we collect
BibleWise does not require you to create an account and does not collect your name or email address. We collect the following categories of information:
- Messages you send to AI Bible Chat — the questions and reflections you type in.
- Prayer journal entries — the prayers, reflections, and testimonies you choose to write.
- Usage and device data — app interactions, device type, operating system, language preference, and crash or performance logs, collected through standard analytics and crash-reporting tools.
- Purchase information — subscription and purchase records processed through the Apple App Store or Google Play billing systems, tied to your device or App Store/Google account, not to a BibleWise account.
03No account required
BibleWise works without sign-up. Your reading progress, quiz results, journal, and chat history are stored on your device rather than tied to a name or email on file with us. If you switch devices or reinstall the App, this data may not carry over automatically.
04AI Bible Chat data
When you send a message to AI Bible Chat, that message is processed by our AI service to generate a response. We use this content to provide the feature and to help improve response quality, generally on an aggregated or de-identified basis. Please avoid including sensitive personal details (such as full names of others, addresses, or financial information) in your messages, since AI Bible Chat is not a secure channel for that kind of information.
05Prayer journal
Because journal entries can include deeply personal and sensitive reflections, we treat this data with particular care and do not sell it or share it with third parties for marketing purposes.
06How we use information
We use collected information to:
- Generate responses in AI Bible Chat
- Save your reading progress, journal entries, and quiz history on your device
- Deliver your daily verse, reminders, and prayer prompts
- Process purchases and manage subscriptions through Apple/Google billing
- Diagnose crashes, fix bugs, and understand app performance through analytics
08Purchases & subscriptions
All purchases and subscriptions are billed through the Apple App Store or Google Play, in accordance with their respective terms and privacy practices. We do not directly collect or store your payment card details.
09Data retention
Journal entries, reading progress, and quiz history are retained on your device for as long as the App is installed. AI Bible Chat message content processed by our AI service is retained only as long as needed to provide and improve the feature, and is not linked to your identity.
10Your rights & choices
Because we don't collect your name or email address, most of your data lives on your device. You can delete individual journal entries, clear your chat history, or remove all app data at any time from within the App, or by uninstalling it. 11Security
We use industry-standard technical and organizational measures to protect your information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
12Children's privacy
Some features of BibleWise, such as Bible quizzes, are designed to be family-friendly and suitable for children using the App under a parent or guardian's supervision. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children, and since no account or personal details are required to use the App, this risk is limited by design.
13International users
Your information may be processed and stored in countries other than your own, including where our AI service providers operate. By using the App, you consent to the transfer of your information to these locations, which may have different data protection laws than your jurisdiction.
14Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the "Last updated" date above, and where appropriate, through an in-app notice.
